Husband's 50th Birthday
Information
provided:
This is to Mark my husband on his 50th birthday at his surprise
party. He is quiet and gentle. Could be known to most as a burly,
truck driving, bearded “teddy bear”. He is very laid back and avoids
confrontation. We dated all through high school; he was the athlete,
and I was the cheerleader. We continued to date after high school,
but then decided to go our own ways and remained very close friends.
He married first, and I and my family attended the wedding. Then, I
married and he and his wife attended mine. Eventually, I divorced
and then he divorced. Neither of us had children. Ultimately, life
lead us back to each other. Worried if a new romantic relationship
would ruin a true and valuable friendship, we decided to give it a
try. We just celebrated our 11th anniversary. Our family and friends
were so happy we ended up together. Trite as it sounds, we really
are soul mates.
He is a wonderful son and son-in-law. Does whatever is needed for
both the widowed moms. He is ready to lend a hand to anyone who
needs his help. Works hard at Wendy’s, lots of hours. Loves to get
away to our summer place in Pymatuning, Pennsylvania. He really
relaxes there, enjoying the pontoon we have, and particularly loves
fishing. We never have enough time to spend there. He is so devoted
to me and is always there when I need him. Since we have no
children, our chocolate Lab, Sadie, is an important part of our
lives.
Here’s the
Poem
it generated:
Where do I start, there’s so much so say,
there’s simply no one
like you!
I love you so much for the person you are,
and for all the things
that you do.
We have some history, don’t we;
in fact, a book we could pen.
Boy meets girl, boy loses girl;
boy finds his girl again.
How did we get so lucky,
to be best friends and lovers, too?
It means so very much to me
to share this birthday with you.
You give so much to others,
with nary a thought for yourself.
Running at a minute’s notice,
putting your own needs on the shelf.
I admire you for your loyalty to the moms
in their time of need.
As a son and son-in-law, dear one,
you’re the “cream of the crop” in
deed!
The hours you put in at Wendy’s
are demanding, to say the least.
Yet, we manage to find our way to the lake,
so you can catch a
fisherman’s feast.
I know there’s never enough time there;
I wish it wasn’t that way.
And you could spend all your time there,
in Pymatuning just fishing
away.
But, life calls with all of its duties,
yet for me, one thing
remains true:
It matters not where I am on this earth,
as long as I’m with you.
Laid back, quiet and gentle;
I love those qualities, dear.
To look at you, no one would know
you’re just a big “Teddy Bear”.
To know you is to love you,
and I’m the lucky one.
‘Cause you’re there for me,
come rain or come shine,
when all is
said and done!
Happy Birthday, Bill!
I adore you,
Sally
(and Sadie, too)
Testimonial:
I just love it! It is so much more than I expected. You are the
greatest!
